Frequently asked questions
Titularium is an open book-discovery catalogue: every title has a public, clear, accessible page, with links to the publisher's website and its points of sale. It doesn't sell books: it takes you to whoever does.
What does a publisher gain by publishing here?
A public, uniform, accessible page for each book, designed to be found by readers, search engines and AI assistants. The record gathers the book's data (title, authorship, synopsis, subjects, price) and declares its accessibility, and links directly to your points of sale, so it drives traffic to where you sell. It's a page you can share and link from anywhere.
What is the GEO Kit and what does it add?
The GEO Kit is the metadata package that AccesPub generates when preparing the book: structured data (schema.org) and the EPUB's accessibility block. That data is what lets the record be understood well —by people and by machines— and it's what gets published as the catalogue record. In other words: the work you already did to meet accessibility is reused to give you visibility.
Why is linking to your record key?
A page's visibility depends largely on who links to it. For the record to really work, link to it from your own channels:
- From your website (press releases, the book's page): these links convey authority and improve the record's visibility in search engines.
- From your newsletter and social channels: although they don't convey the same authority, they bring visits and discovery.
The more quality links point to the record, the better it will be found. It's more valuable than any automation.
What is an accessible record?
It shows the book's accessibility features (structured navigation, resizable text, image descriptions…), as declared by the EPUB. It's what the European Accessibility Act (EAA) requires for ebooks. In addition, the site itself meets WCAG 2.1 AA.
Who can appear?
For now, publishers who use AccesPub. The record is published from AccesPub when generating the book's GEO Kit, with a confirmation step.
How is a book published?
- The publisher remediates its EPUB in AccesPub and generates the GEO Kit.
- It agrees to publish in the catalogue and provides the links to its stores.
- The record goes online, with its data and its declared accessibility.
Is the data reliable?
We publish the data the publisher provides, which is responsible for its accuracy. If a value is missing, it is omitted; it is never invented.
